AusIMM Geoscience Society Webinar 3rd November 2022. Bob Watchorn’s new discoveries on Evolution of Earth.

Over the last 25 years Bob has developed his EagleEye system for enhancing images.

These include geological and geophysical images, such as Landsat and seismic, that until now have yielded no direct structural geology information. EagleEye now enables us to directly view and map the Earth’s structure wherever geophysical images can been constructed. Earth can now be examined in real structural geology.

Validating this structural geology will be a major feature of the webinar with copious cross-correlating examples shown.

Examples of exploration targeting will be shown.

This latest webinar will focus on questions about the Earth’s global geology and evolution. For example, where did the moon forming Theia impact occur?  What impact did it have on the opposite side of Earth? How deep do the impacts from the Late Heavy Bombardment extend? How deep do the Tectonic Plate boundaries extend? What does the Iceland/Mid Atlantic Ridge plate margin look like in detail down to the Outer Core? Where does all of the subduction zone material go to?

Are there lava lamp type plumes? We will look at a couple of plumes/plate boundaries!

Is the current schema of Plate Tectonics valid?

These, and other geological conundrums, will be analysed in this webinar using this new real structural geology down to the core.

The following image of the Eurasian continent, showing seismic tomography at 225 and 2775 km depths and their correlation with a seismic section from Spain to Japan. This should whet your appetite for how much more structural geology we can get from already available geophysical data!

Join Bob as he examines and discusses these global scale features associated with the Earth’s formation.
