Figure 6i. Norseman North Field geology, mines and EagleEye magnetics correlation.
Objective.
We will now investigate the structural geology of the northern half of the Norseman goldfield.
The above figure 6i shows on the left the Norseman Northern and Lake Cowen lodes and stratigraphy. The overlaid geology plan is from a Norseman Gold report.
Results.
The main line of lode can be seen up the centre of the plan as a series of dark areas connected by generally north and NNE trending structures.
The inner stratigraphic fold passing North Royal mine correlates well with the known stratigraphy. The outer stratigraphy on the geology plan only correlates with the general trend of the dark lines on the EagleEye image.
On the left side the northern and southern enlarged areas with the mine lodes are pasted onto the more regional image to give a better idea of the structural relationship to the lodes. The large twist in the structures stands out clearly.
The right side images are the Northfield and Mainfield lodes and mines overlain on the enlarged EagleEye enhancements. There is good correlation between the lodes and EagleEye structures, particularly the NS and Cross lode systems.
Conclusions.
The definition of the lodes is increasing in detail and increasing in correlation with the actual lode positions as the magnification increases.
Cheers
