Figure 5d. Julimar area, EagleEye Structural geology showing Julimar NNE trending complex and its correlation with known geology.
I will be giving an AusIMM webinar on global mineralisation systems and exploration targeting on 25th May which will include much more on this topic. register at – https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/66/messages/58771?.intl=au&.lang=en-AU
The EagleEye structures in the above figure were obtained from the Australia wide magnetics plan seen in Richard Blewett’s LinkedIn post https://www.linkedin.com/in/bob-watchorn-97b95624/recent-activity/comments/
The lineal magnification is 4000/70 km is approximately 60 times.
There has been much discussion, as usual, on the validity of my EagleEye structures 🙂 . As usual I let the evidence speak for itself. In the last post – https://www.geotreks.com.au/work/giant-ring-structures/julimar-ni-cu-pge-orebody-type-exploration-targeting-in-the-yilgarn-craton-western-australia/Figure 5d. Julimar area, EagleEye Structural geology showing Julimar NNE trending complex – I outlined many Julimar targets around the margin of the Yilgarn craton. As people use these plans for exploration targeting a closer check on how the Julimar structures obtained relate to the real structures is warranted.
The above figure 52d shows the comparison between the EagleEye structures and the real documented structures at two scales.
Inset A. Shows the known mafic areas around the Yilgarn craton margin which may host Julimar type mineralisation.
Inset B. Shows a cutout from the original magnetics from the Australia wide image of the SW area studied. There is no structural geology on this colour contour image.
Inset C. Shows the EagleEye image of the same area showing detailed structural geology.
Inset D. The geology at this scale matches the known geology of the Julimar area.
Inset E. Line drawing of the Flat Z Julimar geology.
Inset F. From https://portergeo.com.au/database/mineinfo.asp?mineid=mn1713 showing detailed geology with the same NNE, NW and ENE structures seen in the EagleEye image.
The above images show the strong correlation between the documented and EagleEye structural geology which gives confidence that the targeting done in the previous post can be relied on in general terms to get you into the right area. After that you need to use all of your geological target ranking criteria to sort out where you want to explore in more detail.
Once again all comments welcomed and happy hunting!!
Cheers
Bob
