Figure 5k. Kalgoorlie Golden Mile Superpit, possible conduit pipes for sulphide and Telluride mineralisation.
The image above is of the Kalgoorlie Superpit. There are two ovoid donuts observed that straddle the Superpit.
These donuts encompass the lode systems and I believe they represent the primary mineralisation conduits for the various stages of Golden Mile mineralisation. As far as I can research the primary conduit pipes have not been spatially documented. This again shows the power of EagleEye over other geoscience systems to highlight additional geological features.
If the ovoids are mineralisation pipe alteration outlines then there are prospective exploration targets to the NE and SE of the current pit outline. The treatment plant sits on the NE area 🙂 .
This concept needs further research. It would be interesting to look at places like Broken Hill, Olympic Dam, Mt Isa and perhaps even the biggest iron ore mines to see if they have these donuts around them. Then of course the next plan would be to look for them (as an additional ranking criteria) in areas of prospective geology.
We will be looking at the southern end of the Superpit in more detail in the next post to see if the lode positions can be determined at an even larger enlargement.
Happy donut exploration!
Cheers
